This recording showcases Jackson’s sweet voice (a la Alison Krauss) in a dressing of well-arranged Americana.
Especially pleasing is Darrin Schott’s mandolin that appears on about half the songs.
As to the noteworthy material: The endless circle of a boring life is profiled in “Circle.” “Sound of Rain” is about finding the right one and “Wintersong” evokes a still wintry day, stark with acoustic guitar and violin.
